How To Make Sea Moss Gel

Raw St Lucia Sea Moss Used To Make Sea Moss Gel

Making sea moss gel is super easy! Once you have your soaked sea moss, remove the sea moss from the liquid, soaked, and transfer it to a clean, dry plate. Do not discard the water because this water, which now contains tons of nutrients from the sea moss, will be used to make the gel. (If your water has lots of debris in it or is cloudy, discard your water and use fresh spring or alkaline water to make your sea moss gel.)

  • Add the sea moss to a high-powered blender along with the water. Use 1 cup or water to start and add more depending on the consistency you would like your gel.
  • Blend until it is smooth, about 1-3 minutes. Transfer the Sea Moss into an airtight container/mason jar, and refrigerate. The sea moss gel will thicken in the fridge after 2 hours.

WHAT DOES SEA MOSS SMELL LIKE?

When your dried sea moss arrives, it will have a smell. The golden sea moss smells mineral/grassy. The darker purple and pink sea moss smell like puppy breathe to me LOL. I’ve noticed some batches are smellier than others. Thankfully most of the smell goes away after soaking.

WHAT DOES SEA MOSS GEL TASTE LIKE?

Before I had sea moss gel, I read that it tasted like nothing. It’s true that the taste is VERY mild, which helps it blend in so seamlessly with food, but there is a very, very faint sea-like taste. It’s not a “fishy sea,” but kinda like minerals and ocean air.
